Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future is the fourth title in the Ecco the Dolphin series. It was released in 2000 for the Dreamcast and its soundtrack is composed by Tim Follin. Defender of the Future is an entirely new game universe with a story that has no ties to the original Mega Drive/Genesis titles, hence a reboot. Despite being developed by Appaloosa Interactive (the company formerly known as Novotrade International), the team working on Defender of the Future was not the same team that worked on the Ecco games.

Ok so I have no idea who made this image, it is from a private tracker exclusively for Dreamcast rippers of 90/99/100 media only. Nothing could be ripped or removed unless redundant and un-needed. Only time 80min rips were allowed if there were complete and certain rules had to be applied with every rip and the moderator would make dang sure your rips were yours and built properly. So what does this mean to you? Well that this is the only stereo sound variant out there, 90min disc can be had easily on eBay, 99% of all burners can burn them just click here to buy some disc, it also means the whole game is there and the files were added in the original sort order essentially what we do at ReviveDC but they didn't use dummy files often on 90+ min disc as it makes their chance of being burned .

This release however will probably still fit onto a 80min CDR as it is only 81:45 total record time. But be warned I suggest 90+ media as it will be hard on your DC laser overburnt that much but it should do it on any good disc. Tried on two Taiyo Yunden's and both worked and played on every DC I had but I could hear the laser having a hard time as the "boot sector" is in the dangerous overburn area.

So try it if you want if not get some disc at the link above and I will try to find more 90min rips as they are much easier to find and everyone can enjoy these!! Long live the almigghty DREAMCAST

If you own a DC and don't have a VGA box yet shame on you go get one!! If you do have a VGA box go get yourself one of THESE and enjoy this sweet game and the rest of the Dreamcast library in HD!!

If you try this on 80min disc I'm my Imgburn pack it will ask if you want to overburn tick yes. In Disc juggler under advanced check the overburn box. Alcohol is in your settings somewhere to allow overburn it will do this but it can't burn over 81:59 unlike Imgburn where I have gotten 915mb out of a 900mb 100min cdr with overburn in that program only one that properly handles large media. Its free and i just posted an update so use that for all your burning needs regardless of system or image type.

What program you use to burn this image ? I have burned many dreamcast games without any problem through DiscJuggler, include some 99min ones(Shenmue 2, Armada, Maken X, Omikron the Nomad Soul). They all work OK for my. BUT I WASTED 4 CD-R ON THIS IMAGE !! - Three of them was 99min ones, one 80min. No matter with one of my burners I use(all working without problem even for overburn to more than 870MB) or if I use Disc Juggler or ImgBurn(with installed CDI support). Previously I was using ImgBurn for other image types and for CDI DiscJuggler. After I waste two of my expensive 99mins CD-R on this image I was try to burn it through ImgBurn one time on 80min one second time on 99min and it make same error like under DiscJuggler. I not remember exact error line from DiscJuggler but it was same error like under ImgBurn where it fail to write end of disc with line "Failed to send Cue Sheet"
I try also same image from different source(EmuParadise) and it make same error.

Please try burn this image and tell me if is working for you and what SW + settings you was use for successful burn...
