Praise the great maker and JMS himself. After fourteen years the official Babylon 5 game has been released to the public for all to behold!

--Please note--
I, HarryCane- also known as TheBackStabbedSniper and Niall alone uploaded this alpha to the ISOZONE. I am in no way affiliated to TheFirstOnes, Babylonia Productions, Warner Brothers, TNT (The Bastards) The Sci-Fi channel or Sierra Studios. I uploaded this ISO of my own accord and shall re-upload to other services it if it is removed from this archive due to copyright infringement notifications.

This Alpha needs to be free for all to play. A monument to what was once, and what could be again.

Babylon 5 Into the Fire was a space combat simulator similar in design to the Wing Commander franchise. It would feature 3D Space combat- ranging from Dog fighting to capital ship-to-ship engagements whilst supplementing the story with FMV clips recorded on the set of the series using the actors and actresses from Babylon 5.

The music was composed by Christopher Franke and would utilize a full orchestral score both composed exclusively for the game alongside tracks from the series complete run.

The game was sadly canceled mere months before it's expected release.

This is the Pre-Alpha demo alongside the Combat Alpha Demo which were both featured at E3 '99.

In order to get the game running on modern systems you must run “B5.exe” in Windows XP Compatibility mode (Service pack 2) and open up the “B5.ini” file contained with in the disk image. Scroll down to [Video] Fullscreen=1 and change the text to Fullscreen=0.
Once you have saved the file simply run “B5.exe” and the game will run.

To fix the graphical error upon loading simply turn your ship to the right until you pass the Brakiri starship, Jumpgate and Omega class Destroyer. Once past the ships rotate left- passing the craft again and the graphical bug will have corrected it's self.

To change ships, close the game and once again open “B5.ini” and scroll down to
[Application] PlayerFighter1=StarFury and chance the text to NarnFighter, CentauriFighter, Thunderbolt or RaiderFighter. Once you have saved the file simply run “B5.exe” and you will be piloting a difference craft.

To whom ever originally obtained this disk I thank you with all my heart, I take no credit in discovering this playable Demo. I merely distributed publicly.

Tested on Windows 7 64bit Home premium: Service Pack 1. 8GB of Ram, ATI HD 7770 2GB Graphics card with a 4.2Gh/z quad Core AMD FX 4130 CPU.

Faith Manages.

OMG!! Can't thank you enough for the share and I can't wait to have time to check this out. Ironically I found out about this through "Babylon 5 - Some behind the scenes stuff" on FB. There was another game something like this around that time a group had put together a skinning B5 package for, but I never played it. Will do some digging on that one.

The Babylon project is a good stand alone fan game, but there are many more out there.
Babylon 5: The War without End- The Homeworld 2 mod.
Babylon 5: I've Found Her- the fan game build in a original game engine which simulates realistic physics,
The Babylon 5 Mod for X3: Terran Conflict - a stunning Mod still in development for X3.
The Babylon 5 Mod for Star Trek Armada 2
Babylon 5: Fiery Void - The browser based PvP Game which adapts the old Babylon 5: Wars tabletop system to PC.

Along with a tone of incomplete mods which can all still be played to some degree. It's really impressive how much the Babylon 5 Community latched onto PC Gaming once Into the Fire was cancelled.
