TWITCH and EMULATIONSTATION

Postby tweekers237 » Fri Apr 21, 2017 3:10 pm

Good Morning people.

So I'm new with the whole Twitch thing. So far I just watch. I am however interested in starting a Stream for Retro Games specifically. What I would love to do is stream my games directly from my Raspberry Pi3 (which is why Im posting in the Linux thread).

In my research I've read that Emulation Station has a sort of built in way to stream w/o the use of a Capture Card. I've not attempted it yet since it seems pretty time consuming and a lot of coding involved. I don't know if I can run it straight through the Rpi or if will need my PC at all. The less equipment, the better for me.

Has anybody on here had any success with this? Any help or suggestions would be helpful.

I'm open to any other suggestions or ideas.

Sadly, there's no easy way to do it. I've been looking into it myself. Once I upgrade my SD card to something better than 16GB then I'm going to do this myself.

Yeah it seems pretty daunting and I've been looking into it for a few months.

Some people online say that using a capture card is necessary (or just more simplistic)...

I could probably just as easy get a card and run everything through my laptop but I bought the Pi to uses solely for emulation. I could probably figure a way to Stream it through an OGXbox too.

I've been thinking of buying a capture device. There's one for 40 bucks at a local pawn shop I've been eyeing lol
