Which one do you mean, Everybody's Golf 5 or 6?

Everybody's Golf (5) World Tour (BCES00068)
Hot Shots Golf (5): Out of Bounds (BCUS98115)
Minna no Golf 5 (BCJS30011)

Everybody's Golf (6) (NPEA00424)
Hot Shots Golf (6): World Invitational (NPUA80864)
Minna no Golf 6 (BCJS30089)

I usually keep all the update files on my HDD but I didn't find one for Everybody's Golf - but the reason could be it was just a 3D & MOVE update I never needed.

Even if they closed the servers the update would still be availble if theu r is one.

think its 5 its subtitled everybodys golf world tour.its not a standard update ,its the update that happens when your in game and click on online play then it activates the update, but has online play for this game has been turned off clicking on online now does nothing,,so if you've ever played online after 25/04/2012 you will have the update that supports 3d and move controls

Hmm.... strange. I was heavily into PS3 modding & playing from 2011-2016 and I think I never even saw an update for Everybody's Golf 5 (there are 3 updates vor Everybody's Golf 6 though, Update v1.01 - v1.03)

If it's not a game update it's probably a standard update other games also have. Check if there are any files in a Move supported game that aren't in your Everybody's Golf (5) game folder.

But the very first thing I'd try is the most simple step:
- open Everybody's Golf 5's PARAM.SFO file with "PARAM.SFO Editor"
- check/mark the "PlayStation Move Support", "Move Controller" and "Stereoscopic 3D Warning" boxes (the 3 others too, if needed)
- save and exit PARAM.SFO Editor, copy the file to your PS3 and try again

like this (I just took DIRT 3 as an example because it was the first PARAM.SFO file I found on my PC at the moment) :

make these changes ...

... could be that's all you need because they probably have all the needed files/drivers updated via firmware in the past few years. Who knows? Just try it out.
