What systems you rockin these days?

Postby tweekers237 » Fri May 19, 2017 4:47 pm

Whats up guys and gals?

Just seein what systems you are currently playing or collecting for. Can be new old or in between.

Currently I've been breaking out the Sega Saturn. I've always been team Sega but this the system I have the least experience with. It's also an Importers dream. There are about double the amounts of games avail and a lot are pretty playable regardless of language barrier. Also a lot of games can be had for cheap (minus Japanese shipping).

Recently added CFW on two 3ds consoles that a friend gave me. Been grabbing a bunch of games ever since. Just had to play Ocarina of time and Majora's mask with the new facelift. All I can say is it's a favorite remaster of mine. I don't think I'll be playing the classics ones for a while.

I am working on 300 universal game cases for my collection, building custom display bookcases, and trying to get one of the kids to move out to give me room to make a game room.

Last thing I collected, I completed a Working Designs collection. All games complete and in great condition. (I am only missing the case for Cadash tg-16, and the Map for Vay Sega CD)

theres no way I could do full sets. I'm pretty much a "part time" collector. Meaning I like to play and collect the games I had or games that id like to try.

Just bought Neo-Geo CMVS board, yet the bloody 161-in 1 cart is crashing on a lot of games. Least collecting is not as major expensively as AES is. Metal Slug 1 on AES is $10000 in the past lol :D

Currently play the PS4 & Xbox 360 but trying to build up my Master System collection.

I own other consoles like SNES, NES, Mega Drive but am only getting games for those that I used to own.

I LOVE my Saturn. Collecting for that and spending WAY too much money doing it. Bought a really nice copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga a while back.... ouch

All the same I could never go after full sets. Why pay money for crap games you'll never play? Just to have them to sell on later? That's not really my bag.

Instead I pick games I like, games I can see myself playing. And the odd bargain when I can grab one!

Other than that, everything's in my sig. I'm big on flash carts to save money and space while maximising playable titles :D

Was in an exchange store. Bought .hack infection on PS2 (PAL) before discovering that the Japanese language with English subs are locked until the game is completed, unlike the NTSC version where it's available straightaway! Add to that the lack of PAL60 and 480p support, I will return this and import an American copy. Very disappointed!

Equally disappointed after buying Tekken 5 (I already had it but it was burned and the NTSC version) - it has no 480p on PAL, unlike Tekken 4 which did have it. Why the hell were so many games like this on PS2 where the developers decided to cut progressive scan on PAL when the previous game had it? Just so stupid. Oh well at least it has PAL60 which I really need for a fighting game... but the Japanese version is pretty cheap and of course English friendly so why not go for that?

It doesn't end there. I bought Resident Evil Code Veronica on Dreamcast (again, I had it but burned and the NTSC version). Dreamcast was amazing as almost all games had native VGA support and PAL60, and very few PAL games lacked VGA. Anyway so I put the disc in my system and it says it doesn't support VGA! After a research it seems the PAL version doesn't support VGA (unlike PS2, one of very few PAL DC games not to). Damn! I went on Ebay and bought an American import straightaway.

This all happened today. I am fuming at PAL and I hate PAL and I just wanna kill PAL!
