A small Australian Company has found a way to give computer graphics unlimited power - no one believed them, but they are now using this technology to make real world hologram rooms. Euclideon has opened the world’s first hologram entertainment center where people can have holographic adventures.

They claim to have opened a center with 40 rooms more than a year ago, yet I can't find any video of it by normal people and reviews. Everything is just official footage by the company.

I found this vid whilst browsing tube. Not done any extra research into it, but it's an Australian company and I know we have Aussies on TiZ. Anyone Local to this place?

Don't think my motion sickness could take it :lol:

I read somewhere just an ordinary VR unit would make me sick as a dog. 20 mins on a bus and i go green.

Depends on the game for me. I've got the Playstation VR set and 15 minutes of Skyrim VR makes me nauseous and sets off some severe vertigo, but I can handle games like Moss and Job Simulator without any issues

I have known about them for years and I still don´t believe a single word they are saying.

If their tech would really work that good, why didn´t they just release their Island Demo from 2010 to the public so everyone could try this "incredible" technology on real world hardware for themselves?

If their Tech really is that much superior while people doubt them, why aren´t they giving it away for free to some selected Indie devs that could do something visualy impressive with it so they can have something real that is avaiable to the public and that they could use for marketing? Even a walking Simulator with little to no animations like Gone Home would be enough for them.

If their Tech works that great for VR, why is it that I can´t find a Tech Demonstration, as small as it may be, that I can run now, on my PC using my VR Headset?

If their Holodeck Tech really works that well, why is it that they aren´t going around the world to game conventions like E3, Gamescom, Comic Con and what not and show it off all around the world to us?

If they are really that professional, why aren´t they even able to record fucking gameplay directly instead of filming it from a screen with a handheld camera as if it was the early 2000´s, recording the gameplay directly isn´t anything near rocketscience.

They admit that their animations don´t look good yet, but anything Blizzard ever animated in engine looked far better than the elephant stampede they showed during that segment. Plus it isn´t professional to say "Yes, our animations aren´t good, but our shitty animations look as good as the ones from that company you all love". No, your animations are NOT anywhere close to being in the same ballpark. Their animations are more closely related to the ones you find in something like Morrowind.

Like others pointed out: Why is it that all Videos about their Holoverse thing is from them? Why didn´t they invite Tech Youtubers to a big event to really push that thing? Why is it that it seems as if they aren´t allowing their visitors to film or take pictures there?

They have a lot to proof, so far the only thing they did is talk about how insanely great all their tech in unprofessionaly edited videos is without ever delivering hand on proof to the public, even a static scene like their old Island Demo released to the public would help them a lot. I will only believe them once I can run at least something on my own Hardware.

Its not real until she is touching my weiner... isnt that the whole point of this for most ppl. If there is no touch it's not real.

However it is a step in the right direction. Who wouldn't love a real holodeck. Of course it's a dream and you are missing other senses besides sight. I don't see any way to replicate those other senses.

If star trek was real no one would ever come out of the holodeck would they

They're the same people behind the "atomic graphics"?

Keep walking, people, nothing to see here, only professional scammers at work, they've been promising revolutionary graphics since 2010 and haven't showed anything real in all these years.

I hear ya! I take 25-50mg of Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) about 1/2 to 1 hour before I play any game that I think will make me nauseous and it works quite well! First person shooters or driving games can often do this to me.

old news, they got so much hate for that back when they first showed the first unlimted detail videos, even notch himself debunked everything

Nothing gaming related ever came of the 'unlimited detail engine' , they disabled all like/dislikes and went silent, dont expect anything from them gaming wise anytime soon

The concept of particle type of graphicd is not really new. They do make some honest statements. My 1080p monitor can only show so many pixels at a time and if you treat each frame as simply a layout of those pixels you truly are talking about a limited number of “atoms” that can be done in software. The problem that I see with their technology that they don’t clearly address in that video is how big the files need to be for something like what they are describing. Laser mapping scenary is also not new however to do a single scene (say the church) would require how much storage? 1TB, 2TB, 4TB? Sounds great for a single room but now do this for something like Call of Duty, that may push into the PB range. Good luck downloading and having the need drive array for that much data. If you have all these trillions of points and depending on it is stored spatially you can then just take a slice and that is your frame. No GPU required. Triangles and texture maps may not be perfect but they sure do reduce the amount of storage needed. This is why in most games the scenary doesn’t alter much. Those trees and tht grass is the same texture repeated over and over.

I think it is very neat however impractical for most games. Imagine buying a game in a store and it it is delivered on a 10TB hard drive. Game cost: $350. Good luck with that!!

That's where I was at. Sure it may be technically possible, but seems like it would require a room sized supercomputer, and even then fluid motion animation on such a large scale seems unlikely.
