WTB: High-End 19-21" CRT VGA Monitors (USA - SF Bay Area)

Postby bahamutfan64 » Mon May 28, 2018 6:33 am

Hi everyone,

I know this is a very long shot, but I'm looking for any premium 19"+ CRT monitors, especially high-end ones made by Sony, Mitsubishi, NEC, Iiyama, Eizo, Nokia, and the like.

I am located in California - the SF Bay Area, so I would mostly be interested in (relatively) local pickup only, since shipping these guys is expensive and the risk of damage during transit extremely high.

Thanks!

Best of luck on your quest. Being a native of the Bay Area myself (now living in SoCal), I know it was (maybe still is) the Mecca of retro gaming before I left in 2012, and this was before everyone started buying up CRT's during the retro gaming craze.

I got a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2040u from a guy on LetGo, so anything is possible. Maybe check there, or OfferUp. I have pretty much given up on Craigslist, as people jack up their prices considerably like eBay.

The Bay Area is very inconsistent nowadays. Occasionally you see high-end PVMs like the 20M4 or the 20L5 on Craigslist (for eBay prices of course), and other times it's a dry spell for months. VGA monitors seem to be especially rare.

Just wanted to try my luck on here as well. Thanks!

If you made your way down to SoCal, you would be surprised to see how many more options are available - especially since there are more TV/movie studios that used to use them. When I lived in the Bay Area, I would go to SoCal 3 or 4 times a year, and would make deals while down there. I see VGA CRT's quite often on here, and even some Sony Wega's (one day, I want one when I have more space).
