100 Dreamcast games.

Postby acr250rider » Sun Mar 11, 2018 3:06 pm

100 Dreamcast games in 10 minutes.
No narration which is good but because of the 100/10 minutes. Just not too indepth.
I actually seen a few game that looked way worth trying out. And a few I`m never going to try!

Its just me, but I think games like Pen Pen and Godzilla Generations represents the Dreamcast much more than the huge ammount of previous generation ports, like Resident Evil 3 and Dino Crisis that are PS1 ports and Star Wars Racer that is a N64 port.

I have to agree, but in the case of those games it is obvious. Now take Soul Calibur (and for PS2 it was Tekken Tag), those games ran on much older hardware in the arcade, but when they came home they got HUGE face lifts that really showed how much the next hardware generation was capable of. And Resident Evil Code Veronica's graphics were amazing, but people couldn't get over the fact the controls were still tank style, so it never did get to separate itself from the RE's before it. It was a double edged sword really.

Personally for me, the games that come to mind as defining the dreamcast and showing off the next generation would bring:
Shenmue - for the immersion and attention to detail
Jet Grind Radio / Rez - for new graphic techniques and game ideas
Crazy Taxi / Marvel VS Capcom 2 - arcade perfect ports
Phantasy Star Online - showing once again (*cough Saturn Netlink cough* that Sega was at the forefront of trying to push online play

Looks like there's a part 2 to that "100 dreamcast games in 10 minutes" video, showing another 100 games. Also without commentary!

Actually, it looks like that channel is nothing but "100 games in 10 minutes" ... with a wackload of different platforms...

I sense ... lots of emulation...
