Well I always mention this game because not everyone was aware of it, at least not before David Bowie died but this early work by Heavy Rain Developers is a futuristic adventure mixing several game styles. I am sure it is not for everyone and was definitely ambitious for the time but you might just love as I did

Hmmm..... isn't this about "hidden gems"?
Shenmue, Resident Evil, Crazy Taxi and Soul Reaver are some of the most known and most popular titles for the DC.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to rain on your parade, offend you or talk down to you (like some others here) but he was probably asking for lesser known titles.
(It's not only you but quite often some people mention several system blockbuster titles when it's about "hidden gems" and I think that's not what the original post is asking for)

Fair enough. I guess I was more avoiding the obvious Sonic or Arcade hits but yeah you are correct.

i still appreciate the replies!! unfortunatly i could not get the back up of omnikron to load and i got two coasters with it lol everything else ive burned works flawlessly. but yes im trying to stay away from big hit titles that ive already played on repeat in my childhood and with the recent purchase of my new dreamcast i want to explore games that are unappreciated yet playable by todays standards. dont get me wrong i still enjoy games like re, soul calibur, crazy taxi but they are a bit overplayed for me.

Not sure how common / uncommon these are, in no particular order:

1. Power Stone 2 (picked it up for $5 at my old video rental shop  )
2. Propeller Arena
3. Seaman (because who doesn't love Yoot Saito's face)
(edit: You'll need a mic for Seaman, but they pop up often from Alien Front on eBay)
4. Toy Commander (always reminded me of Airfix Dogfighter)
5. Segagaga (I can't read Japanese so I've relied on a FAQ  )
6. Tech Romancer
7. Stupid Invaders (infuriating but definitely unique)
8. Confidential Mission
9. Pro Pinball Trilogy (really dope pinball game, never found an actual copy)
10. Heavy Metal: Geomatrix (because we never got FAKK2 on DC)

Not necessarily my favorite games ever, but all are still worth playing!

...except maybe Stupid Invaders, that maze, fml.

If you like puzzle games, try Musapey's Choco Marker.

Sports Jam is also a cool game, more about timing than about sport.

I'd add Maken X to the great titles already mentioned - not really a hidden gem, but definitely overlooked.

Rainbow Cotton? Franchise killer. Terrible game - deserves to be forgotten. You can pretty much get through the first 2 levels without even touching the controller! Literally any other game in the franchise is a million times better.

Really loved playing Under Defeat, fantastic little shooter! And I'd never have touched it if someone hadn't requested it and I went searching the interwebs for it :D

Just another reason I :lovetiz:

I'm afraid i must agree with duwen, i'm not a fan of rainbow cotton, same into the screen play style as panorama cotton (which is a bona fide md hidden gem) but none of the fun or challenge.
Dreamcast actually has a fair few class shooters on it when i think about it.
