How to mod MVC2 on Dreamcast

Postby Anthony817 » Mon Aug 22, 2011 12:48 am

Ok, I know many people make some stellar Marvel VS Capcom 2 mods, and thought I should share what I know, mainly just links I have discovered, but this should help anybody out that wants to mod the game.

Good site explaining a few of the basics.

Has more than just MVC2 mods, he also has mods of Tony Hawk and Crazy Taxi.

I wonder how many games you could do this for?

The directions don't sound to difficult. I'm sure it would take a little gettin the hang of, but it doesn't sound to crazy.

Cool post Anthony817, Interesting read.

Thanks. Yeah, there are many games you can mod that are retail, but they must have ADX format I believe.

Check out my uploads of MVC2, Tony Hawk 2 and Crazy Taxi new mix.

I dl your MJ version of marvel vs cap 2 a while back. Played it for a buddy and he got a kick out of the fact you could change around the audio.

I used to love the soundtrack for sled storm on the playstation. It had a couple of econoline crush tracks I really liked. I still own the game but don't have a ps1 or ps2 to play it on. i tried it with bleem and the textures are all white on white making it near imposible to play. Its my favorite game soundtrack still to this day.

CDDA games seem to be a bit of a rarity, so I'm sure that most games you could modify the music if anyone is interested enough. You could probably mod the music in CDDA games as well if you had a program that would move WAV to RAW. I know there are RAW to WAV tools out there.

Yeah, I am sure you can do it with many other games, it is just finding the file format and recompiling them into the game correctly.

I'm new here, so I don't know, which is the best self-booting MvC2 iso for me to get?

I made my own Custom Marvel vs Capcom 2 Mod.
I know how to do it.
Music Swapping. Simple and Advance.
Color Mod using Palmod.

I'm planning to a tutorial on how I custom MvC2 on my Windows 7 PC (that includes making the Selfbootable CDI part.)

I recently made a dubstep and color palette remix of marvel vs capcom 2 for Dreamcast. PS2 was a bit more challenging to make. If i had a way i would post it on this site. I made a BDSM palette Mod for Cable. It is just wrong in so many ways  .

The one thing you have to be very careful of, is to make sure your music has the looping set up correctly on it, as the retail one does, or else you end up with just dead silence and only sound effects after your music runs out.
