How to add XBMC4XBOX shortcut on UnleashX?

Postby FireFire273 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 3:13 am

Hi I recently decided to fire up my softmodded XBOX with UnleashX 0.39 on it and was on the internet today and saw this pic on google and wondering how do I add a XBMC4XBOX shortcut to my front UnleashX Page?
Here's the pic!

Edit UnleashX's Config.xml file:

      <Item Action="Restart" >Reboot</Item>
      <Item Action="Shutdown" >Shutdown</Item>
   </Menu>
</UnleashX>

Find the <Menu>...</Menu> section.

After the Launch DVD line:

Code: Select all
<Item Action="LaunchDVD" >Launch DVD</Item>

add the following:

Code: Select all
<Item Action="F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe">XBMC</Item>

Set the Action="<path to default.xbe>" value to the complete path where XBMC4Xbox's default.xbe file is found on your console.

Only thing I'd add would be that using kaos_engr's advice the position of the XBMC UnleashX menu entry would be at the top, exactly as shown in the attached picture. That may not suit.

The Item Action XBMC line can be added to the config.xml anywhere after any previous Item Action's last entry. If you look down towards the bottom of the config.xml you'll likely see:-

</List>
<Item Action="FileManager" >File Explorer</Item>
<Item Action="C:\xboxdash.xbe">MS Dashboard</Item>
<Item Action="Restart" >Reboot</Item>
<Item Action="Shutdown" >Shutdown</Item>
</Menu>

I'd suggest an alternative menu placement, if wanted, adding the XBMC Item Action entry there just above the File Manager entry ie. as the first item below </List>. That would place it between System and File Explorer in the UX menu. But of course you can put it anywhere you prefer.

First rule about editing config.xmls is make a backup copy first.
