XERC 2, where to buy?

Postby Maddglow05 » Fri Apr 20, 2018 8:06 pm

Does anyone know where to get the XERC 2 chips for the xbox to boot up wirelessly? And at a reasonable price

I havent found much but I believe you can build one yourself. Can one lead me to a good instructions guide and if its worth it?

A bit late to purchase one from sickmods.net. You could build one yourself.

Information here: http://diy.sickmods.net/Our_Products/XERC_2/Build_It/

There are more links to additional pages about the XERC 2 on the left-hand side of that webpage.

About
Build It <- page link listed above.
Install It
Manual
Support Forums <- offline
Buy It <--out of production, no longer available - the shop is closed.

thanks for the quick response. I'll look into that, so its out of production right? Building one myself.. would I need an old ass pc for doing the software side of things?

There had been some others reproducing boards but that was a few years ago too. Don't know of anyone that currently produces them.

I don't think it requires an old PC. Software to program the ATtiny15/25/45/85 is available for current computer hardware and Windows OS.

Newer ATtiny MCU's supported with Microchip's ATmel Studio 7: http://www.microchip.com/avr-support/atmel-studio-7

Archive listing of older AVR Studio releases: http://www.microchip.com/avr-support/av ... ds-archive (e.g., AVR Studio 4 that was used to build the source to generate the hex files.)

The precompiled hex files are available via a link on sickmod.net's site to http://pablot.com/firmware/xerc2/ to use avrdude software to program the ATtiny.

Too bad you're not in the U.S. I have a few spares. Also have Xbox remote dongles prepped.

I don't have many left, but you could ask N64 Freak from assemblergames, he sells them and he is closer to you. He lives in Germany.
