Softmod Issue

Postby R0bb0X » Sun Jun 18, 2017 5:51 pm

So basically, i tried to install XBMC on top of Unleash-X which was installed using Splinter Cell. I then got an error to do with conflicts of dashboards. Luckily i had a copy of Slayers (i'm unsure of the ver no.) which i used to remove the dashboard. Unfortunately i lost my M$ dashbaord at the same time and can't access any files on the drive. I can still load original xbox games like FIFA 05 and Forza motorsport but there are no saves . When i try to load up xbox live from a game , it reboots the game as if i've just loaded it . Any help/suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance .

You should be able to recover ok.I don't know much about softmods however there is others that have stuffed up & have used AID,Hexen to recover etc. While your waiting do a forum search for others with the same issue & how they got back on track. The only issue i see is whether you have a backup of the eeprom or not.So for now don't overwrite E in fact you may be able to get the eeprom by using the file managers in AID or hexen, they both have an ftp option if thumb drive is not available.

As scorpNZ says it should be recoverable.
Rocky5's Extras Disc (check Rocky5's signature for the download) is worth a try, it works in a similar way to AID,Hexen etc but is more up to date. On the Extras Disc you will get the option to update your softmod to Rocky5's latest version, after that XBMC can be installed off the disc onto the partition of your choice.

I would avoid Rockey5's disc. nothing wrong with it just personal preference. use slayers disc 2.7 to ONLY reinstall the microsoft dash 5960.Then you should be able to completely fix the softmod or reinstall softmod with Hexen boot cd which yopu can download from this site. cheers, good luck!

Use Rocky5's Extras disc. YES, as Biggsy666 said, "Its" most definitely "the muts nuts."

This disc has the latest softmod available updated June 7, 2017. Installs the latest version of XBMC4Xbox 3.5.3 which is not on Slayer's 2.7 Installer disc and more.

Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tool and Extras Disc download site.

DVD-R with ImgBurn for that.

Nobody should be recommending Slayers for a softmod fix. It may be able to do the job but as others have said here Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tools and Extras Disc is the tool for this sort of problem, and most others. Particularly so if you don't know what you're doing.

If you are not sure about anything please post here and ask for advice before proceeding.

By the sounds of it they wiped there C partition and E perdition, so error16 is imminent.
( don't remove the plug from the Xbox )

What error screen do you get when you power the Xbox on with no game in the drive?

If that dose occurs it's hot swapping and a PC or other modded Xbox to fix it.

I had a mix of error 13 and 14. I have no power supply as the hard drive tray hit a metal capacitor on the power supply and it went kaput.
