Postby GREED » Mon Jul 17, 2017 1:36 am

Hey guys, does anyone know how to add new music to the "User Track Playlist" on GTA San Andreas for a modded xbox?? I'm not sure which folder to drop in. Can someone help me out please? I really appreciate it...Thanks

If I remember correctly you copy audio CD's to the Xbox HDD from the MS dash

The way I do it is, and this works for Vice City and III as well, is as follows:
-Burn disc as audio disc using Windows Media player or something
-Boot into MS Dashboard
-Rip CD to hard drive from Music menu
Now, when you launch San Andreas, the user track player should work.

That's the way to do it. Use the MS dash to rip the music you want from disc and it will be stored as custom soundtracks which can be played by those, unfortunately, few games that made use of this under-appreciated feature. GTA: SA is one of the best uses of it IMHO.

The actual folder where they're stored is: E:\TDATA\fffe0000 and they're listed as numbered ST.DB files.

Using FTP or the File Manager you can add tracks from other sources to that folder directly but they must be .wma format (produces large file sizes). It may also require it to be a particular version of .wma too. So check that out first but whatever the case it of course means you have to convert .mp3 or other audio file formats to .wma first.

Midnight Club 3 (and the DUB edition) also used custom soundtracks
