Yeah, thats an N64 Save Pak alright, I'd say maybe third party, back in the day we labeled our save paks in pen to indicate which saves were on it, since there was no built in save viewer, it was madness.

Nope, I think some manufacturers did switchable banks but afaik the majority are singles,
unless that is a switch in image two, I thought it was some rubber thing at first.

What is this? Looks like a button, maybe a mod of some type?

I used to have that exact same memory pak. I can't remember what the button did but I think it might have switched between memory banks like FreePlayFlorida said.

I didn't have an N64 back in the day but PS1 had a couple of memory cards that had buttons to switch, that's what this looked like to me as well.

Button is most likely a page switcher, and this is an X-in-1 memory card. Find a game that has an ingame save browser, and see what it does.

I use to have of those, the button let you switch pages so you can store more on the, but they fail more faster and cause bad data errors, it's likely junk now

Fun fact: some games have a hidden built in memory manager that let you copy and delete saves from memory cards. Perfect Dark and Mario Kart 64 are notable examples. Activate it by holding start while powering on the console
