I was wondering if you could use other GBA games in it because it shows the cartridge is removable. Never mind they are going for a lot less on eBay and better pictures of the game looks more like a SD shape. More China junk that will show up at the thrift stores.

I've seen them on ebay, generally from china and a bit cheaper on price too. Not played on one though. I don't think actual GB games would work which is a shame.

You could try your hand at making a GB Macro from an old ds/ds lite.

Just make your own using

PI3

You'll end up with a better product than china...

Best way to play gba games: buy a second-hand ds or ds lite. You can put your gba games in it and the picture is actually better than the one on gba sp. You can find cheap ones everyday on the net ( round $25/$30 for a decent working ds lite).

Yeah, thats what i was thinking. Mod it and you could have a dedicated backlit GBA player :D

You can pick up a ds/dslite with a broken top screen even cheaper for this mod. All thats needed is a single resistor to bypass the top screen and some filler and paint.

I do have a ds lite with a top screen that does not work anymore can I still do this with a bottom screen. Also the power switch is broken on the inside. Any way to fix that? It’s the little plastic piece that the outside switch fits over it broke off.

Yeah, you only need the bottom screen for this and the top screen is removed. The DS will search for it and turn itself off when it cant find it but a single resistor can bypass that search allowing the DS to run only with the bottom screen. Steel a speaker from the top half of the ds before discarding it. Check out youtube for some guides on making these.

The power switch i'm not sure about as i have never needed to fix one, sorry mate.
