File Hoster that streams movie files?

File Hoster that streams movie files?

Postby XamX » Fri Jul 20, 2018 4:59 pm

Are there any file hosting sites where I can upload my movies/films and then watch them directly via stream (like Youtube, DailyMotion, PornHub and so on) ?

I'd like to upload/backup videos for private use only like I already did with several "normal" file hosters like mega.nz, uploaded.to, FD, filefactory and so on but now I want to be able to watch them directly from the site. That means of course the site shouldn't tell me the video is copyrighted and they take it down.

I've seen one or two sites in the past but they only had around 2GB of space. So I'm looking for a free FTP/FileHoster-like site that offers at least 10-15GB for each free acount.

Maybe it's too much I'm asking for but I just hope there is such a site I haven't noticed yet.

Maybe I misunderstand but this doesn't make sense, why when you have the files locally would you want to upload them to stream? With a tablet and Chromecast you can just do it locally.

Ok. I already have an openload account but I never tried it out. Thanks.

I'm not using the Affiliate Program, if I would there would be copyright problems as their pop-up window told me.
But we'll find out. I have those movies burned and backed up on Blu-Ray discs anyway, I just want to be able to stream them using my netbook and tablet.

Google Drive lets you watch your backed up media through the browser. I think Amazon has something similar as well. Both offer free 5gb of storage. My opinion, just install Kodi and download the necessary plugins to stream and watch the type of media you have on your hard drive. That way you wont have to upload 58gb across multiple accounts.

- Last time I checked (yesterday) Google Drive only offered 2GB for free.
- I DON'T want to use my harddrive, that's the whole point here because I want to stream my videos when I'm on vacation watching on my tablet, netbook or phone and also have the videos for family & friends whenever they want to watch them.

I need to test Openload.co more because the shorter .mp4 and .avi files worked fine but the bigger .mkv files don't. That could be a problem when converting the video or it was just the uploads that didn't go well, I have to check that again.

Interesting, could be a site issue in managing Matroska files
You can also try to convert in .mp4 the .mkv without re-encoding video
and try to upload it in that form

I think Openload deletes files if they are inactive for 30-60 days. I don't know exactly what that entails. I'm guessing each video will need to be watched or opened every so often.
