Video games to blame again.

Video games to blame again.

Blaming video games, again. Reminds me a lot of the Jack Thompson days. Hopefully this won't stick and lead to ridiculous censoring or something. Old white right folk need to pick up a controller. But seriously....
https://www.rollingstone.com/glixel/fea ... gs-w516863

And movies and saying we need a rating system which we already have? I don't understand this argument either. Violence is every where. Rather have it contained in a film or game than have pent up aggression psychos.

And finally, mental health. As someone in the mental health field, many people I know with mental health issues are nowhere near being killers. Every country in the world has mental health problems, but they don't have mass shootings. Why? Because they have no assault rifles -.- why is this sop ignored when the solution is so simple?

I miss the good old days when they used to blame Heavy Metal Music, Horror Movies and Dungeons & Dragons.

If anything video games kept me out of trouble, but its a matter of common sense, of knowing the difference between reality, and unreality, If you dont have common sense you shouldnt play video games.

Everyone knows that Doom was responsible for the Columbine shooting in '99.

The whole argument is just as stupid as it was back then. No one wants to blame the fact that too many potentially dangerous people have access to ridiculous amounts of firearms. The NRA always manages to lobby the government to shut down any kind of firearm legislation no matter how many times this happens.

I thought the "blame video games" debacle flamed out along with the much-hyped Y2K. It's a good thing Joseph Lieberman and Jack Thomson didn't kick off the scapegoat jamboree this time around (thank goodness).

I bet all shooters from the past 20 years also drank Coca-Cola, ate peanut butter and watched Disney - why not blame that?

People in the rest of the world also play video games but aren't mass murderers.

Yeah, everyone else in the world has vastly lower crime rates and the only correlation is gun bans or stricter gun laws. Yet it is a completely ignored statistic. But then you have people whining about how knives can still kill people blah blah too.

Video games keep me from killing people in real life. Good way to dump stress a few rounds of Doom and away you go.

Everyone is scratching their heads trying to figure out whats going on inside the minds of thees mad men. There is a multitude of reasons that lead up to people loosing there minds . The solution to protecting you and your loved ones starts by Arming yourself. We should have armed personnel at thees schools . Instead of this run like hell or putting your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye gun free zone policy we have for our children.
FYI America is not the only country that has school shootings .It happens elsewhere and more likely to happen where they are left unprotected. Other countries have bomb attacks on there schools ect. Background checks don't prevent other means to an end. Doesn't matter what kind of weapon they choose to use. Their intent is the same.

As I mentioned before, gun laws in every other country except ours has worked. But they don't have crazy NRA. More guns doesn't fix the issue. And driving is a necessity of course cars kill more. XD

That's a load of shit. Did their gun laws work for Paris France when isis attacked and killed 130 people at the Eagles of Death Metal concert in 2015 ? I'm sure it was probably a good guy with a gun that ended up stopping that carnage . Fight fire with fire

Oh horseshit! Democrats and Republicans alike used to fully support the entire Bill of Rights. Hell JFK was a damned lifetime member of the NRA and was very vocal in his support of the 2nd Amendment rights of self-defense.

Modern neoliberals just love to attack the Bill of Rights. Trying to silence speech on public campuses to removing the right to religious expression to trying to do away with guns, this is the modern leftist. Fuck that and fuck them!

The NRA serves the same purpose for guns as the ACLU does for speech. You may not like guns, but your feelings on the matter are irrelevant. It is our right to have access to them as long as we remaining law abiding citizens. You may not like Nazi's but your fucking feelings on the matter are irrelevant. It is our right to speech even if it offends.

Driving is a privilege. It is NOT a right. Jesus, don't you kids get civics classes anymore?! :roll:

I remember when Judas Priest was the scape goat for teens killing them selves. People are such attention horemongers they have to make sure when they do something stupid they want to get media attention then play I am a victim of society BS. Even druggies want attention when they are trying to stop its life you do not get a cookie for reversing you idiotic decisions.

Maybe you forget how our politicians work.
They put "riders" in bills along with the main bill they're wishing to pass, and that may and has caused many bills to fail.
If it is opposed by enough politicians who vote "no" the bill dies.
It could involve anything from gun legislation to funding a study why cows fart.
And if you remove the firearms from our society, criminal minds will find an alternative item to use as a weapon, or they will and do resort to the black market.
+++++
Seriously.....
Breaking the law is no big deal for criminals, that's what they do.
NO LAW is too tough for the criminal mind to ignore.
+++++
And it isn't that easy everywhere to buy a gun LEGALLY.
Where I live you have to go through a dealer.... no private sales are allowed.
+++++
Law enforcement can't be everywhere.
That's why I keep my .357 magnum close by.
