McBoot Playing Ps1 games on Ps2

Hello people, sort of new at this so ill just get to the point and maybe you guys or girls can help me.I recently got Mcboot installed on my Memory Card and I have been backing up all my games and etc. Today a thought came to mind, is it possible to put around 4-6 ps1 game on one dvd-r and burn it with ESR to make it work? Since (as far as i seen) ESR only reads Dvd disc?

Nope not possible, sorry. You're not the first one to ask, and wont be the last. But Free McBoot does not allow you to play PS1 backups.

Ironically if you softmod your Wii it does allow you to put sometimes 5 or 6 Gamecube backups on a dvd-r and play them on Wii (maybe that's where you got the idea?) but doesn't work that way with Free McBoot/PS1 games.

I believe you would have to block the sensors inside your PS2, and have a PS1 original to play PS1 backups. There may be more to it than just that IDK because I haven't done it myself. I think there's a tutorial on this site somewhere but I can't remember where.

it's possible but you have to write the single psx image to a dvd! (one psx image to one dvdr per piece) you can't have multiple images on the dvd....!

Really? wow I never knew you could even write one PS1 game and play it using Free McBoot. Learn something new every day I guess.

That tutorial I posted ain't too bad it says you only got a block sensors if it's a Slim (but unfortunately for me I have a Slim) but if you have a fat all you need is free mcboot which the OP I'm assuming already has, one original PS1 game which you could get off Ebay for a few bucks any game, and a usb stick. But looks like you would have to swap the original with the backup each time.

If you REALLY want to play a ps1 game on your ps2 just do a single swap at the ps logo.

Don't you need swap disc loader or slide card for that to work?

Nope. With a slim model jsut block the lid sensor and swap it. With a fat you have to take the case and cover off though, but its not that hard.

EDIT- Its essentially the same thing as a ps1 swap trick but you only have to swap it once.

Yeah but you still have to block sensors for Slim and open the fat. So that's basically the same thing that tutorial I linked to was talking about except this one doesn't require a usb stick.

I kind of want a way to play PS1 backups other than my epsxe emulator but not if it requires opening my PS2 I screwed up my Dreamcast opening it up once by accidently ripping the ribbon from it's slot and decided I didn't want to open any more consoles. Before I did that I fixed my RROD on my 360 though. That's just me though.

Didn't know that, so you just put the disc in and swap the ps1 backup and that's it?

use psxlauncher.elf, it's the same as the swap trick. the only difference is the .elf will stop your drive from spinning after it loads the game boot so you can insert your backup without damaging the drive.

to anyone who half-way knows what their doing or has the ability to use google, all of that is implied. i'm a "push ya in the right direction kinda guy" i'm not gonna hold someone's hand through the process.

Each to his own, I believe in giving people the instructions myself. It takes less than a minute to type some of the details instead of assuming people will know that they will to need to do more than what you say (some won't) and to send them off to google. Google is just showing questions from noobs on other sites that got answers. If everyone just said "psxlauncher" on other forums there'd be no answer on Google either. Unless someone made a website listing how to do it which isn't always the case.

Not trying to attack you personally but I just believe in giving details if I know them.

i can understand your perspective. i'll admit i've gotten a couple answers from users here but most of what i've learned has been from seeking it out on my own. and i know some will still be dumbfounded and not know what to think of only a hint.
