Remove a few screws, disconnect the old IDE connector piece, connect the new SATA connector piece, put the screws back in that hold it all together.

Tha "ALL IN ONE" Adapters from China are FAKES and are missing Network Port so you won't be able to FTP. Also the boards are 3rd party and prone to breaking. An Official SONY Network Adapter and bridge PCB from MDP is the best option

The Chinese Gamestar Adapters aren't bad from what people say. I own one and it works just fine for me. Granted it doesn't have a network port but that isn't a huge price to pay. So far I haven't had issues running any games with it. Build quality is alright except for the shitty plastic screws it has.

(Not reccomending you do get one just saying this because of ZX post.)

Click that link, and order one! Takes about two weeks to turn up. Faster if you're lucky.

So long as you are careful when unlocking the ribbon strip then its a pretty straight forward job as the rest just entails unscrewing then re-screwing.Watch some youtubes on whats involved.Including using a magnifying glass on the locking strip (this is pretty much the hardest part of the whole job).Being very gentle & careful to use a thin blunt edge of some sort on the two very small protrusions on each side of the locking strip of plastic & gently leveraging from side to side till you have unlocked the ribbon. You only need to move it outwards a little bit.Replacing is as simple as holding the unit & strip in one hand (can't recall if i did this on a surface or in my hand however i applied pressure between a part of the rear of the unit while with my spare fingers forcing the ribbon back into its position),Once done used my other hand with a flat blunt instrument (can be a butter knife for this part of the op) to gently do the reverse of removing by slowly working it side by side back in,making sure ribbon is properly aligned & not skewd (most probably would pay close attention to how your ribbon sits before removal, however that brownish line is a good indicator you have it aligned correctly)
The job isn't hard to do so long as you pay close attention & perhaps take photo's of it before stripping

I agree with them, it's really easy to do, in fact you can watch a youtube video of it I believe.

If you're still not wanting to do it yourself (and I understand that, sometimes I'm the same way), if you buy the part from MaxDIY and wait until it gets to you, then you box both it and the network adapter you have (you have to make sure it works before you send it to me), along with a return label, I would charge $5 USD for the time it takes me to put it together and drop it back in the mail. If you're not mailing the $5 in the box, it will be a paypal transaction and you will need to either pay me for the return shipping or need to include tracking on your return shipping so that I can fill in that spot on paypal to complete the transaction.

I have already made 3 of these for myself, and I haven't had a problem with any of them.

The original sony ethernet adapter for the phat ps2 that's used for attaching an internal IDE hdd.what your seeing in the links is the modification of the IDE connection board being replaced with the SATA adapter to take a newer &/or larger hdd's of SATA connection

the phat PS2's didn't have inbuilt networking ability as sony didn't think internet gaming would take off is my understanding, boy were they proved wrong.

It was a cost saving measure - households with Internet connections were nowhere near as common at release as they were 3~4 years into the lifecycle.

If you own a original Network Adapter for PS2 ^^ THIS is what the ORIGINAL IDE Bridge Board looks like (Larger than life)

The SATA Bridge PCB Is the same size as the IDE Bridge PCB to fits PERFECTLY INSIDE The network Adapter
Unlike some...
