TV Mounting Tips And Tricks – 2024 Guide
Most TV brackets come with screws that can be used to attach the mounting plate to your TV. However, these are standard screws that are sufficient in most cases. A few times it happens that no suitable screw is supplied. You can order these separately on our website or visit a hardware store and pick up the necessary screws here. You can find out which screw you need by measuring the diameter of the screw hole and measuring the depth of the hole using a long thin object (e.g. a skewer). The most common non-standard micrometer is the M8, on this page you will find more information about this. For more info please click here.
The screws and plugs that you need to attach the Tv mounting plate to the wall are usually not included, because the type of hardware you need can differ per wall type. We recommend that you always inquire about this with a specialist in the hardware store. This ensures that the mounting materials used can support the weight of the TV mount and TV.
When mounting, always take the following into account:
Check the wall type and the total weight of the TV and TV bracket in advance. (Installation on a plasterboard wall is not recommended unless the TV bracket can be mounted on a support beam or the like)
- Check with a hardware store specialist about the screws and plugs to use
- Use a spirit level to make sure that the TV bracket is mounted straight on the wall.
- Check that there are no electricity or water pipes in the chosen location.
- Mark the holes on the wall or ceiling and choose a suitable drill for the wall type.
- Drill slowly and in a controlled manner
- Then mount the TV bracket mounting plate following the steps in the mounting manual.
Some TV mounts have a built-in spirit level. This is of course to make it easier for you to assemble, but we still recommend that you always check the operation of the spirit level and not rely on it blindly. A spirit level can already lose its effect with one impact and this can of course sometimes happen during transport. You can check the operation by reading the spirit level horizontally. If you then hold the spirit level vertically and it shows the same result, the effect of the spirit level is still intact.
