Using Pal Gamecube on NTSC. SWISS

Postby nornor1 » Mon Feb 27, 2017 3:44 am

So I installed a Xeno chip in it and all is good. Burned discs work fine, I can play all of my original NTSC games fine. Also Im using a SCART cable to a Scart to Component adapter. for RGB goodness on a CRT. The issue I have is when Load the SWISS disc. I get a Rolling screen on the Swiss disc.

Is there any way to modify the Swiss tools disc to Force 480i on boot? I tried holding X during boot, but does not work for the swiss disc. its set to Auto by default, so all i get is the rolling screen. I have to just Press B, right, A, Down, Down, Down, Right, Down, Down, Down, A. Thats how to blindly navigate to set that to 480i LOL.

the beauty of this, Using the Pal gamecube and swiss disc is this. you get RGB through Scart(no 480p tho), and the swiss disc can force 240p for the Gameboy advanced player, and you can also force 240p for gamecube games. Makes gaming on a CRT look really good :).

From a quick read - supposedly since r199 (At least, that's when the idea was brought up), you pull the left trigger on boot?

I tried pulling the L trigger on boot and still get the rolling screen on the swiss disc. also the Gamecube boot up sequence is rolling also. but thats cause its runing in 576i. other than the Swiss disc and startup boot sequence, games run fine. and once I blindly set the swiss disc back to 480i, all is good.

I bought a PAL motherboard from someone in the UK on ebay for like $25-$35 bucks on ebay. I already had a us gamecube. I swapped motherboards, and I am using a NTSC powersupply no problem. I have the non digital port Pal model. but im using Scart for RGB :). then I use a scart to component adapter.

Did you have PAL ou NTSC version of Swiss disc? There are 3 available for burning (PAL, NTSC-J and NTSC-US).

Does RGB output only support 480i/240p when using a SCART to Component adapter?
