VMWare Workstation 14

Is anyone here ever tried WMWare Workstation Pro 14 on Linux?

I accept a job to test real minimum system requirements of running some older Windows-versions (Win7 and XP) on virtual machines. I had tried any VM's over a ten years (used VMWare 6) . First problem about that 14-version is low incompatibility of older hardware (you can choose older VM-version too) . I know that newer versions is made for running Win10.

I use old AMD Athlon X2 laptop with 4gig of ram and OS is Lubuntu 16.04 x64 . Ten years ago I tried a lower specs to run XP under Linux. There are few Windows programs that will need to run under Linux.

My interest is to know what is the real specs to run Win7 at a proper speed. I also had other PC's to try VMWare and the main question is that is VMWare Pro worth to buy a licence. I won't usually take a jobs anymore about computers anymore but this was interesting one and next week I will start a daily job and it's nothing computer related.
