I thought Power Stone was really fresh and was hooked the first time I played it. I also loved the clean white look of my DC and the fact it wasn't a Play Station. It was a little bit alt.

First Soulcalibur!!! It simply blew my head... and the best thing was that each title impressed me more than the previous one!!! Shenmue, Virtua Tennis 2, Sonic Adventure 2, NBA 2K2, Headhunter, Border Down, Under Defeat, etc, etc.

the graphics were what drew me in. It was such a leap up from Saturn/PS1/N64 at the time.
What kept me there was the mix of great arcade ports, and also the new refreshing titles too.
The controller was also very comfortable too, making long play sessions not a problem.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Powerstone 2 convinced me to buy one. So many great games that are still being re-released to this day.

I love it because it was part of the 5th generation of games, and not part of the 6th as it was supposed to be considered.

It was rival to PS1 and N64. It did fight against PS2 but only for a holiday season then it was dropped by SEGA.

I love the graphics evolution, it was a big jump from previous systems.

I still consider the SEGA SATURN an overall better console, and it makes me wonder why DC never had appeal to the masses and failed so hard.

I believe it was mostly because SEGA dropped the Saturn and buyers lost confidence in buying another console from them, so Sony took the lead once again with the PS2.

Nintendo did the same mistakes with the 64, cancelling many games like Mother 3. Hardcore fans of the time will never forgive them for not supporting the console as they promised.

Sony did a much better work with PS1 to PS2. Saturn and N64 got vanished from the earth before their substitutes could enter in the market.

DC suffered from that. Still, the whole story behind it, a failed machine and the last attempt to conquer the gaming market and survive makes it even more interesting.

5th generation + Dreamcast is my favourite gaming period.

For me it was games such as Resident Evil Code Veronica, Shenmue and Soul Calibur. Playing in VGA made the games look AMAZING! The VMU peripheral was also kind of cool.

The graphics blew me away at the time. Coming from 32bit to 128bit was a HUGE leap back in those days. Playing the games was equally rewarding with all the Naomi ports and some innovative ideas at the time. Seaman, Typing House of the Dead.... You could just feel SEGA was back in the game and going full steam. Unfortunately the steam didn't last.....RIP :(
