What Software are you using?
What Disc Image type are you trying to burn?
For what system are you trying to burn a game?

Try the http://www.alcohol-soft.com/ app Alcohol 120% Free Edition as MDS/MDF is a native image format it uses.

Watch out for all the free add-ons it wants you to install along the way to the download and while running the installer. They are all optional so skip or decline them along the way and during installation if you don't want them.

SPTD v2.12 (SCSI Pass Through Device) installs and requires a reboot to finish installation of Alcohol 120%.

There are also apps to convert MDF/MDS disc images to ISO format, for example:

MDFtoISO

I take it they are eather CUE/BIN or MDS/MDF format?

DATA with Audio tracks cause disk type to be MIXED type (Data and CDDA)

I use ImgBurn most of the time for writing disks and it usually detect type of media you wanna burn.

Multi-track images to me mean - DATA - Audio 1 - Audio 2 - Audio 3 etc...

The smaller file(s) CUE/MDS control the start and stop points for CD Audio, without, you end up with no soundtrack if CD Audio based...

If you have CUE/BIN , you can open the CUE file with NOTEPAD and see audio tracks listed or not

Hope this helps
